Hostel Messes in AU are fully operational

Messes in AU are fully operational
   Hostel messes are not closed
      Do not believe false propaganda

Andhra University, January 21:

Andhra University Registrar Prof. K. Ramababu stated in a press release that all student messes in Andhra University have been opened to full capacity. He said that the news and reports coming out stating that messes are closed and locked are untrue. He mentioned that following the holidays, hostels and messes have been brought into full availability. He said that meals are being provided to students in the messes. He stated that some people are intentionally spreading false propaganda about this and asked not to believe them. He said that breakfast in the morning, lunch, and dinner are being provided in the messes without any inconvenience to the students.

He stated that immediately after the university holidays ended, students had not yet reached the university in full strength. Because of this, a common mess is being organized for the students. He mentioned that within the jurisdiction of Science and Arts colleges, a common mess is being organized for the first two days according to the number of students. He stated that only 40-50 students arrived at each hostel mess, and because of this, two or three messes were combined to form a common mess. He said this system has been in implementation at the university for decades. He stated that as soon as the number of students increased, all messes were opened to full capacity as usual and meal arrangements were made in the respective messes.

Similarly, he said that students have mess dues to pay. He mentioned that the same is being informed to the students. He stated that this stands as a process that happens every year. He said it is far from the truth that some people, without knowing the facts and misleading the public, students, and parents, spread false propaganda saying that food will only be served if fees are paid. He said that full-scale meals have been arranged for all students in the messes. He mentioned that AU officials and staff are working fully to ensure no inconvenience is caused to the students.

In the Women’s Hostel in Maharanipeta, on the morning of the 19th, breakfast was provided to 310, lunch to 550, and dinner to 600 people; on the 20th, morning breakfast was provided to 600, lunch to 600, and dinner to 700 people. Under the Science College jurisdiction, no students opened mess cards on the 19th. On the 20th, 70 people had lunch and 140 had dinner; on the 21st morning, 220 had breakfast and 240 had lunch. Under the Arts College jurisdiction, students did not open mess cards on the 19th and 20th. On the 21st morning, 155 had breakfast and 240 had lunch. In the Law College hostel, 31 people had lunch.

In Vidyatarangini Hostel, breakfast and meals are being provided to every student who has arrived since Monday.

The staff is working in the university hostels to provide meals to every student to the full extent. We once again request everyone not to believe the false propaganda that food is not being given to students and messes are locked, and to know the facts.
